You can be called and still be tired.

About Face is for the leader who looks fruitful but feels worn out underneath — a turning back to God's original design: identity, sonship, Sabbath, blessing, and formation before function.

About Face by Michael Obadja book cover

The ache beneath the achievement

The book is for the leader who quietly carries weight no one sees.

About Face was written for pastors, ministry leaders, Christian entrepreneurs, fathers, and emerging leaders who have carried responsibility while quietly wondering, “Who am I when I'm not producing?”

About Face is an invitation to return — from performance to belonging, from orphan patterns to sonship, from output to overflow. Less strategy, more turning.

The Turn

What About Face helps you turn from and toward.

From performance

Living like your worth rises and falls with what you produce.

To sonship

Receiving the Father's blessing before you prove anything.

From exhaustion

Full calendars, thin roots, leadership that never feels like enough.

To Sabbath rest

Rest as identity before activity, not recovery after collapse.

From gifting alone

Using charisma and competence to build what the soul cannot sustain.

To formation

Letting God form the leader before the leader forms others.

“Mike Obadja has discovered something profound — that it is impossible to truly love and bless others until you yourself have received the Father's blessing. I wholeheartedly recommend About Face to anyone who desires to deeply impact the lives of those God has entrusted to them.”

About the author

Mike Obadja didn't write this from theory.

Mike is a pastor in Chino, California — husband to Mira, father to Mika and Malakai. He has spent his ministry years leading communities, building teams, and forming leaders. About Face is his most personal work — a memoir and a pathway, shaped by mentors like Craig Hill and Ps. Eddy Leo.

December 2023. A ranch outside Houston.

Mike sat at a table of Christian business leaders. He felt like the smallest story in the room. Pastor Craig Hill didn't respond to what Mike said. He just looked at him. Quietly. Waited. No challenge. No critique. Just presence. The kind that doesn't rush to fix you. And something cracked open.

That moment — and what it taught Mike about the Father's blessing — is the seed of this book.
